Hadn't been sewing for awhile, but wanted to make a new tablecloth for Christmas dinner.

in progress ... Was my first attempt using my serger - was a little intimidating at first, but I finally figured it out and am pleased with the result.
I found this fabric at my favorite quilt shop in Albuquerque. Now I need to make some dark green napkins - not sure if I'll have time for that since I was so slow getting this finished. But the dinner table should look nice, eh? :-)
finished project ... :-)

How cute is this fabric? The flannel was so cozy and soft to work with. I'm spoiling the surprise, but this blanket is for Chico, our daughter and son-in-law's Chihuahua. When they make their trip to visit us for Christmas, Chico can be cozy and warm on the plane :-)

Update - turns out the new baby is a beautiful baby boy. Mom and baby are doing fine! Also turns out that the new parents are using Peter Rabbit as the theme for their new baby's nursery, so this worked out great! Not very often that such coincidences occur, huh? :-)

Finished project. The new parents-to-be want the gender of their baby to be a surprise, so this will work for either a new baby boy or girl :-)

The newest quilt - my coworker's first-born daughter is due to have her first baby any day now. I spotted this fabric in my favorite quilt shop in Albuquerque and couldn't resist. Here we are in progress.

This quilt honors my mother-in-law who was always a huge lover of cats. In years past, mom would tell us the story of her as a child having as many as 30 cats on the farm, and her mom would tell guests to "shoo the cats away and come on in." Many times mom would chuckle as she told that story. At her home in Santa Fe, she has had feral cats "adopt" her, and the mama cat that she fed had a boy and girl kitten. When the time came, the mama cat left her kittens with mom, knowing they were in good hands. The male cat still lives at the house, though mom no longer enjoys him. Alzheimer's has robbed her of her memories, her mind, herself, and "her" cat has now formed a relationship with my husband. Even though mom isn't able to understand, this quilt is in honor of her - Annabelle Wagner Chaparro - who on August 4th marked her 84th birthday.

Finished quilt. Hope it will be a snuggly place for the new baby grandson to snooze :-)

details of the cute little animals on this quilt :-)

Another baby quilt - this one for an Army buddy's brand new baby grandson. Here we are in progress...

I haven't done much sewing in quite a few months, but when my niece Amy gave birth to her daughter on her own birthday, that was good motivation! :-) A soft pink blankie for the new little princess! :-)
